Ministry Description for our next Lead Pastor

We are looking for an experienced, caring, intuitive, and passionate Lead Pastor to join our thriving, growing church in Western Washington.

Skagit Valley: Our town is the gateway to the beautiful rugged mountain peaks of the North Cascades! Skagit County is a vibrant family friendly area in a diverse valley that features everything from tulip fields, rivers, lakes and farmland to a national park. We have several trendy downtown areas, beautiful architecture, and small to medium size city living at its finest! Our four campuses are in Sedro-Woolley, Burlington, La Conner and Marblemount. We’re biased but we don’t think there’s a more beautiful place in the entire PNW!

About us: We are a healthy group of believers who come together to worship and share community in a culturally relevant environment. We are currently averaging around 700+ people in attendance every Sunday over our different campuses. Our original location in Sedro-Woolley averages around 600+ people. We are passionate about following God, fulfilling his purpose for our church, and we care deeply about people because people matter to God. We are looking for someone who loves Jesus and His people and who will lead us into the future. Our church has a very modern and fun worship style while also holding very tightly to traditional, biblical values. We are a multi-generational church that puts our next generation first. We’re compassion driven both locally and globally, we are committed to excellence (not perfection), we are outreach driven in that we are passionate about people being saved, baptized, and discipled, and we are committed to our community. We have a healthy, fun, and thriving staff of more than 17 people; in addition to a lead pastor, the staff includes another full-time pastor, campus pastors, part-time pastors, a full office team, janitorial, facilities, media, and a kids ministry team. Our facilities are all owned and recently remodeled. we are financially stable, and we have a healthy, fun, and outreach minded church culture.

Our History: Inspire Church of Sedro-Woolley (originally Bethel Assembly of God) will have been in existence for 100 years in 2027, and has been at our current location for 50+ years. In that time span we’ve had many ups and downs, but the last decade has been a season of renewal, growth, health, and a God focused vision. Most recently (about 7 years ago) we’ve grown from one campus to four, with about 700 regular attendees, and 1200 people who call us their church home. Most of this growth has been new Christians, the unchurched, and de-churched people; along with some transfer growth.

 Requirements:

• Experience in Pastoral Leadership (Campus Pastor, Youth Pastor, Executive Pastor, Children’s Pastor, etc.) at a church of 500 or more in average worship attendance.

• Experience in executive level leadership (Managing people, budgets, facilities, etc. in a “large” church context.)

• Experience in Preaching/Communicating God’s Word on a regular/weekly basis.

• Humble, hungry, and smart!

• Proficient in communication of God’s Word.

• Proficient in working knowledge of the various systems/computer programs that are used at Inspire: Mac, Word, Excel, QB online, Planning Center (PCO), Adobe, ProPresenter, Flocknote, Google Workspace, Church Center, Square, Various online and social media platforms.

• Experience in developing leaders and teams. 

• Experience in managing systems, strategies, and structure of a church of 500+.

• Experience in maintaining/creating budgets, staff structures, facility management, organizational structure, etc.

• Experience in creating/maintaining a “Preaching Calendar” that fulfills the overall needs of the body and places proper emphasis on God’s Word.

• Preferred experience with leading in a “Multi-Site” context. 

• Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree preferred (Or experience/skills to effectively do the job) 

• Ordained with Assemblies of God and in good standing with NWMN (Or the ability to accomplish this within 1 year of hire date)
